closet re-organization

To be honest, this project wasn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of closet re-organizations. I have no scary "before" pictures like Kendi and Indiana. However, a few months ago I realized that my growing wardrobe was straining the limits of my tiny apartment closet (which, btw, I share with my husband. My life is difficult). When the semester ended in December, I dove right in and implemented a few organization systems.

1. Two hanging sweater organizers hold scarves, tights, swim suits, and purses.
2. Thrifted bulletin board and push pins keep jewelry and belts visible and organized.
3. An old shoe rack keeps flats neat, and a gifted Ikea table displays heels and boots.*
*Note: I'm in the process of emptying wine bottles to keep boots upright. Oh, the things we do for fashion.
4. Boxes covered in wrapping paper and pictures of the contents keep hats and costumes tidy.

These few simple changes have made a world of difference. I can see everything at once, small items are more accessible, and I never forget what's in (or needs to be in) my wardrobe. My closet is now my favorite room in the house. :)

  2. Wow I love it! I've been wanting to reorganize mine too! I especially like the wine bottle idea and the boxes with the wrapping paper and pictures! They're both so creative! I'd love to use those ideas once I actually get around to doing my closet. Thanks for sharing! I love reading your blog :)
