outfit: black and pastel

Though my mother generally found it an odd combination, I've always loved paring black with pastels. It's unexpected, which I think is the basis for being interesting. And, I'd honestly rather be interesting than pretty.

occasion: errands, work / shirt: Target / blazer: Gap / skirt: Francesca's Collection (made in the USA!) / shoes: Connie / sunnies: ASOS / purse: thrifted Gucci / necklace: gift, Katy Scudieri on etsy / ring: gift, dad's metal-detecting find

This was my first Francesca's Collection purchase, not to mention my first non-accessory online clothing purchase. I've only worn it a couple times, but have already received several complements (mostly from people with purple hair or tattoos, which I think is the most complementary thing of all.) The best part is that Francesca's Collection carries many items made in the USA, including this little number! Sometimes it's hard to find retail stores featuring domestically made clothing other than American Apparel. Not that I don't love American Apparel. A girl just needs a little variety. I'll definitely be hitting up the FC boutique in Plano before heading out to TxSC next month!

How about you? Have you found retailers other than American Apparel that carry cute clothing made in the USA? I love to hear of any!
