Little known fact about me: I'm obsessed with funny/meaningful/interesting quotes. Since I was about 15, I've kept a notebook with all my favorite quotes from books, film, television, famous people, and beyond. I've had to recopy it twice because I ran out of pages. This book is probably way more telling of who I am than any of my angsty teen journals. Love me some quotes.



This quote for this painting is often attributed to Plato, but I have my doubts about that. Either way, I've always loved it. I think that kindness is an extremely undervalued quality. Tolerance instead is preached as the virtue du jour. However, I think that being kind to oneself and to others is a much better way to promote optimism and joy.
