About

Hello, internet! My name is Chelle, and Spangled Paraphernalia is my personal blog. I have been blogging since 2004 (as a senior in high school, oh my), and SP was born in 2011. While it began as a strictly style-focused blog, as I evolved as a person, so did my blog, and now I mostly write about life, style, art, and everything in between.

Dallas, TX is my home-base where I live with my husband (a pretty amazing guy named Corban) and two sister kitties, Harley and Ivy. I always wanted to be an artist when I grew up, and in 2009 I opened an etsy shop where I sell original paintings and works of art. Mixed media and digital art have recently caught my fancy, so I am currently saving for a large format printer in hopes of offering prints in the shop soon. My style is part cartoon-y, part illustrative, part cute, part grotesque, and, just like my blog, is constantly changing. I love commissions, so if you're looking for a custom piece of art, feel free to peruse my portfolio and give me a shout.

In addition to slinging paint, I also have a day job bossing college students around in an academic library. It's about as cool as it sounds (which varies depending how cool you think libraries are...for the record, I firmly believe that they rock).

On top of everything else, I have more hobbies than I could reasonably list (can you tell I like to stay busy?). Right now, I'm obsessed with aerial silks (yes, like Cirque du Soleil). I started practicing at Vertical Fitness in 2012 and haven't stopped since.

Above all, I believe in positivity and love. I always say that the greatest tragedy about life is that we only get to have one, so I'm making the absolute most of mine.
